My cats have been kicked out of daycare.  Well not all of them, really just one of them – Scamper. But the vet asked that we find another place for them instead of boarding them next time because Scamper decided that it would be “cool or funny ” ( I can’t decide what was in his mind) to reach out and scratch one of the assistants.  This is not the first time he’s done something like this.  He has been known to back himself into the corner and growl when they come to clean his cage and also he’s scratched at others in the past.  This is no surprise to me, because he usually will go and hide in the rafters of the utility room when he wants to avoid something like monthly flea medication or going to the vet.  He’s scratched me in the past, but now he’s gotten everyone kicked out of “kitty daycare”.

But luckily our next door neighbors are willing to keep a look out for the three of them ( Smokey, Nemo and Scamper) for a weekend.  If it’s more than a couple of days we may have to find some kitty xanax to chill his nerves.  I’m not sure even that would help, though.

I had to take Nemo to the vet this morning.  Nemo is our four year old female cat.  She has allergies and it really sucks that all three of the cats are outside cats, because if they were inside cats we wouldn’t have to deal with one cat with allergies (Nemo ), one that has a real problem with ear mites (Scamper) and then one that seems to be normal except for thinking he’s really a little human boy (Smokey).  She is pretty annoyed with me. This is a picture that illustrates Nemo’s attitude toward me since I brought her home this morning.  Dr. McRae gave her a shot and I can’t tell you what it has in it.  I just call it an allergy shot and it usually makes her feel better in a day or so.  She has to get a shot every 3 – 6 months.

Here’s a picture of the twins, so Smokey and Scamper don’t get jealous.  Smokey is the one with one eye open.

Yes they are outside cats.  They only come in the sunroom when the temperature get below freezing ( rarely) or the heat index is up around 100 (frequently).
