Katie left this morning to go with her friends Kelly and Noelle to spend the week at Honey Creek , which is a camp and conference center for the Episcopal Diocese of Georgia. Kelly has been dying for Katie to go all summer. This week’s camp is focusing on nature which is right up Katie’s alley. She’ll be back on Saturday and then has to prepare for the 4-h State Congress. Katie of course will be giving her DPA presentation again. She took her speech with her to camp to practice it or at least read it over once or twice. I just have to call the extension office to figure out the dates because in my mind it was a weekend event, but I think it might be a during the week thing instead.
Herman has jury duty this week and if he gets picked who knows how long he’ll be reporting to the courthouse. We heard there is a murder trial this time. I told him that I would love to take his place. He knows how much I like Law & Order ( all three current versions Law & Order, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and Law & Order: Special Victim’s Unit ) Judge Joe Brown, Judge Mathis and the always classic, The People’s Court.
With both of them occupied this week I should be able to get most of our home reorganizing done. I’ve got a to do list that seems like it’s a mile long and it seems like it’s a thousand degrees outside so that makes everything miserable. This afternoon it’s not so bad as far as temperature goes, like right now it’s only 94 degrees, but the humidity is a killer. The radar shows rain coming, so we should get a relief just in time for dinner.
